Greetings Members,
I hope you all are enjoying the summer so far and let’s all hope the weather continues for many months to come. If you have been out on the course I’m sure you have seen the changes from last year. The greens and fairways are much better, several traps have been rebuilt, and sand has been added to many more. These are the results of your investment in the Club through the small assessment we did earlier in the year. We have a number of important projects we would like to tackle next year along with keeping our superintendent’s budget where it should be to keep the course in great shape. Your help in building our membership will go a long way to funding these projects.
If you have been using the pool I hope you’ve seen improvement in the food and beverage service. It’s been a focus of the Pool Committee. Eric Kuehlthau has done an outstanding job this year heading up the committee and working with the swim team and Lilly to make sure all are getting the most out of the pool. There have been a couple of concerns you might have noticed in the pool. Some tiles have been popping loose and some small pieces of plaster have come loose. We have addressed these issues with Orca, who rebuilt the pool, and have been assured these issues are under warranty and will be fixed at the end of the season at no charge.
Beccy Scheuffele and her Food and Beverage committee have been hard at work improving the quality and diversity of our menu and drinks. She has been working with Juan, Pinky and Tom to make Twin Lakes one of your top picks for having a great meal and a cocktail. Stay tuned. Great things are coming.
Once again, we are on the hunt for a new accountant. We thought we had one but things just didn’t work out. If you know anyone with an accounting background looking for a great place to work, please let Tom know.
As you all know, Twin Lakes is a small club and runs on a tight budget so getting our account receivables paid to us on time is important. For a long time we have had a provision in our by-laws that enables us to charge a late fee to members that haven’t paid their bill by the 15th of the month and have rarely ever used it. That said, what other monthly bill do you pay, like a credit card, a mortgage, or a utility bill that doesn’t have a late charge if paid late? That unfortunately will not be the case anymore at the Club. If you pay the bill after the 15th, a late charge will be applied of $100.00 or 1.5%, whichever is greater for every month until the bill is paid in full. Charging privileges and access to the Club will also stop after the 15th of the month until the member’s balance is paid in full. This is standard practice at all the clubs I have talked with. Please pay your bill on time and help our staff spend their time in more productive ways and not spend time collecting money.
Thanks
Russ Meyers

I cannot believe it is August already!
We have had such a great season so far and I look forward to having some more fun and making more memories. This month we have our Women’s Club Championship Aug 4,7,11; Men’s Club Championship Aug 7-9; and our Senior Club Championship on Aug 21 & 22.
The Wednesday Night Men’s Competitions have continued to have an amazing turn out and we will keep running them through September. Our leading point winner so far is Andrew Ziltener with 945 points. Our top 5 finishers along with Andrew Ziltener are Michael Gintz with 834 points, Stephen Sealey with 821 points, Aron Defaccio with 805 points, and Justin Thornton with 709 points.
We have 36 players for this year’s Men’s Club Championship. Even if you are not playing, come out and watch the players finish on #9 green this Sunday as we crown our 2026 Cub Champion. Friday starting times are your own. The first tee time for Saturday is at 9am off #1 tee and Sunday will start at 9:00am off #10 tee. All players will be playing the white tee markers for this event.
The Senior Men’s Club Championship (50+ yrs.) will be held on Friday & Saturday, Aug 21 & 22. Sign-ups are open on live tourney as well as signing up in the golf shop. Those seniors 65+yrs have the option of playing the green tees. Friday times are your own and Saturday tee times will start at 9am on the #10 tee.
Junior Camps are halfway through the program. Everything is working out with the back 9 start beginning at 12pm for the membership while they finish their on-course play on the front 9. A reminder that the driving range on Monday’s does not open until 1pm during this time. We are using the whole practice facility for the juniors from 8am – 11:30am and then the staff is picking up balls until 1pm. The last Monday for our junior program is Aug 24 after which Monday play goes back to its normal hours.
The driving range continues to be busy throughout the day. We still need your help to keep the range balls/buckets on property. We are slowly losing range balls to the down fencing and trying our best to not close the range down other than our Wednesday clean pick/Thursday mow, Fridays from 5-6pm and Sundays from 5-6pm for a light pick. We will be continuing these closure hours of the range but there are times when we run out that we may have to have a pick on Monday afternoons from 5-6pm. Those members wishing to practice in the late afternoon/early evening will still need to call the golf shop for the closure status.
Another reminder to bring back your towels and range buckets. Believe it or not, we need to supply these to the other members of the club… It has been embarrassing this past week to not have an adequate supply of to provide when needed. Please do your part and return them. It will be one less cost to our golf operations.

Please respect private property when looking for your golf ball, and use the restrooms provided on the course at holes #6 and #15. Thank you.
We’re right in the middle of peak golf season and we’ve had some amazing weather! We hope you’ve been able to enjoy the course!
John Leslie and his crew have been busy maintaining and improving the golf course. The continue to focus hand watering in areas that need it, along with putting wetting agents on some of the “hot spots” on the course that need extra attention. They have also attended to a couple of pipe breaks (#18 in the middle of the fairway and #6 next to the forward tee) with relatively little interruption to play. If you played recently, you may have noticed some tiny cuts in the greens. John did an aerification of every green on the course to help the greens maintain positive health.
There are some other areas of improvement worth noting. The grass is growing in nicely on hole #5 where the bunker used to be (used to be the last fairway bunker on the right). John and his crew also made some improvement on the greenside bunker on hole #15 to smooth out the top to avoid future issues. Also, a big thank you to Bryce Landrud and his crew for removing some of the trees on the #18 tee box. This will help get some much-needed sun on the tee box.
We also invite you to visit this maintenance link to view photos of recent completed work!
Maintenance 2026. Thank you to John and his team and the MMC for their hard work and contributions to the beautification and maintenance of the golf course and property.

Thank you,

The Annual Food Truck Extravaganza in July was perhaps the best Food Truck event ever! Compliments galore from the community attendees who arrived in droves! Hi there Twin Lakes!! Our Ladies 9 Hole Division is in their final 2 months of the season and we have been having a ton of fun! The month of July kicked off with our normal Low Net competition, followed by a Middle Five, T’s & F’s, (where you only score on holes that begin with a T or an F) and then our end of the month Shotgun start with a “Lone Ranger” Team competition where being the “Lone Ranger” rotates hole by hole between the team players. Then 2 Net Scores are taken. One has to be the Lone Ranger of the hole and the other is the lowest net. The team competition is always so much fun and we get to golf with different ladies every month! The winning team of the Lone Ranger competition consisted of Jessaylnn H, Donna L, Callie M. and Kim M. Way to go!!! All four of these weekly competitions are included in our season medal play competition. To finish off the month, the Ladies Division enjoyed their annual Guest Day with good golf, weather and amazing pals from the past and present. We’ll look forward to updating you next month.
