Dear Twin Lakes Members,
Hello from 30,000 feet! I’m writing this from my seat on the airplane taking me to my 3rd family reunion this summer – personal and work travel have been a consistent theme in 2025, it’s been a busy year! I dearly wish I was playing more golf. I hope everyone has been enjoying this amazing summer weather.
There are a lot of Twin Lakes Club tournaments coming up. The Men’s, Women’s Division and Senior Championship tournaments are this upcoming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we will have two outside events in August as well as a Juniors event. Please refer to the Golf Events page on our website for a full list!
We had two fantastic social events in July – the Food Truck event continues to grow every year and we estimate 225+ people attended this year. It’s wonderful to host this event that’s open to the whole Twin Lakes community, not just members, in a relaxed atmosphere at our club. Our food truck vendors continue to report strong sales from this event every year. I couldn’t attend the Martini and Jazz Event (family reunion #2) and I’m bummed I didn’t get to try the martini luge, we’ll have to repeat that next year! It was great to see the wedding lawn used for this event and from all the pictures I saw, it looks like the weather cooperated for a lovely night. The Social Committee is doing a great job this year!
Our Summer Bash is coming up on August 15th, featuring live music from Soul Funktion (yes, they’re back!) on the #3 tee box, a putting contest on #9 green, 50-50 raffle, $10 slider bar and another regatta! This is a great event that goes well into the night so bring your light-up headbands, hats and accessories and hit the dance floor! Kids who would like to assemble and decorate a sailboat for the regatta are welcome to come to the club on August 13th at 6PM. Please RSVP as boat supplies are limited.
We’ve also booked Soul Funktion for our travel-themed New Year’s Eve party! More details are coming soon – but get excited for global-themed cocktails, appetizers, and “it’s sunrise somewhere” brunch. Members and guests are welcome for $75 (plus tax and gratuity) a person.
It may seem early, but we will hold elections for 3 new Board Members in November. A nominating committee will be formed in early September, and a candidate information sheet will be sent out to all members to express interest. Board Members are elected to a term of 3 years with a maximum of 2 consecutive terms. Please consider giving your time to the club and running for the Board!
Warm Regards, Erika

I cannot believe it is August already!
We have had such a great season so far and I look forward to having some more fun and making more memories. This month we have our Women’s Club Championship Aug 5, 8, 12; Men’s Club Championship Aug 8-10; and our Senior Club Championship on Aug 22 & 23.
The Wednesday Night Men’s Competitions have continued to have an amazing turn out and we will keep running them through September. Our leading point winner so far is Andrew Ziltener with 685 points. Our top 5 finishers along with Andrew Ziltener are Stephen Sealey with 625 points, Jim Dorrough with 567.50, Ramon Dzubay with 580 points, and Michael Gintz with 500 points.
The Men’s Club Championship sign-ups are still open using GGID (Golf Genius ID) tlchamp25 on Golf Genius or by calling the golf shop. You can also CLICK HERE to register. Even if you are not playing, come out and watch the players finish on #9 green this Sunday as we crown our 2025 Cub Champion. We will be closing sign-ups on Wednesday, Aug 6 at 5pm. For Friday’s round you can make tee times to fit your schedule, but you need to make sure you are playing with someone else who is playing in the championship. We have time blocked off times from 12pm – 2:30pm to accommodate pairing players up. The first tee time for Saturday is at 9am off #1 tee and Sunday will start at 9:00am off #10 tee. All players will be playing the white tee markers for this event.
The Senior Men’s Club Championship (50+ yrs.) will be held on Friday & Saturday, Aug 22 & 23. Sign-ups are also open using GGID tlsrchamp25 or you can sign up in the golf shop. Those seniors 65+yrs have the option of playing the green tees. Saturday tee times will start at 9am on the #10 tee.
PGA Jr League completed its season. Ben and his selected players have now entered the All-Stars part of the program. We wish all our all-star players the best of luck representing us along with their fellow team members from Glen Acres and Auburn Golf Course.
Junior Camps are halfway through the program. Everything is working out with the back 9 start for the membership while they finish their on-course play on the front 9. A reminder that the driving range on Monday’s does not open until 12:30 during this time. We are using the whole practice facility for the juniors from 8am – 11:30am and then the staff is picking up balls until 12:30pm. The last Monday for our junior program is Aug 25 after which Monday play goes back to its normal hours.
The driving range continues to be busy throughout the day. We still need your help to keep the range balls/buckets on property. We are slowly losing range balls to the down fencing and trying our best to not close the range down other than our Wednesday clean pick/Thursday mow, Fridays from 4-5pm and Sundays from 4-5pm for a light pick. We will be continuing these closure hours of the range but there are times when we run out that we may have to have a pick on Monday afternoons from 4-5pm. Those members wishing to practice in the late afternoon/early evening will still need to call the golf shop for the closure status.
Another reminder to bring back your towels and range buckets. Believe it or not, we need to supply these to the other members of the club… It has been embarrassing this past week to not have an adequate supply of to provide when needed. Please do your part and return them. It will be one less cost to our golf operations.

This month we recognize Dan Smith for his contributions to helping us keep our golf course sanded through out his walking the dog and playing the course in the afternoons.
As the summer rolls on, John and his team have continued to maintain excellent playing conditions throughout a busy and dry time of year. As always, John and crew have worked extremely hard to maintain the course, and have spent extra time hand watering areas that could get overwatered if they continued running the sprinklers for longer. The golf course is running fast and firm and has held up well while seeing a busy golf schedule of regular member play, league play, and tournaments.
During this busy time of year, projects and improvements are still happening:
Potential upcoming projects we have discussed:
Now that it is golf carts on the course season, please remember to get back to the cart path once you approach 30 yards of the greens. As a reminder to all members and your guests, please do your part to assist with course conditions by following cart path rules, repairing pitch and ball marks, and sanding your divots. These small efforts add up in a big way and help the golf course recover more quickly.
If you have other ideas you would like the Greens Committee to address, you are always welcome to reach out. For other questions, comments, or concerns please email tpac14@gmail.com and/or ssealey16@gmail.com and we will review with the committee.
Thank you,
Tyler Pac & Stephen Sealey

What a beautiful and sunny day the Twin Lakes TEAM had competing against Rainier on June 19th, at Meridian Valley. Although it was a beautiful day, our fifth match of the year was a tough one. We got 3.5 points gross, 4 points net, and the Subs brought in 2 points. The grouping for the day was Team 1: Anna Lee and Sharon Lorenzo, Team 2: Angela Lee and Megan DeFaccio, Team 3: Frankie Stephens and Sung Chang, Team 4: Jill McBroom and Suzy Eberle, and our Subs: Sue Sohn and HuiSuk So.
Overall standings; Twin Lakes is in 4th place Gross with 28.5 points, 2nd Place Net with 28.5 points, and Subs are tied for 1st place with 11 points. We have two matches left; September 25th at Bear Creek vs. Seattle, and October 9th at Overlake vs. Fairwood. Enjoy the next few months and let us keep the momentum going.
In other intraclub news we hosted Sweeps in July. Our SWGA rep, Denise Harrell and good friend Patty Adkins, greeted the players at the door. The Lee Ladies, Angela and Anna took 3rd place in the Flight 1, Captain Frankie Stevens and Minhee Chung tied for second in Flight 2 and Chong Sena and Janet Sage tied for third place in Flight 3. Nice work ladies!
Back at SWGA City Championship our own Angela Lee tied for Low Net of the field! The Joan Koch trophy will be residing in our trophy case for half of 2025. Congratulations Angela, you make us proud.
Now on to our activities. We have lots going on and are enjoying really great participation.
President’s Cup wrapped up and a great big CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD JOB to Kathleen Ouellet on winning the cup! Kathleen was in the final group and thanks to Golf Genius we were able to track the scoring from the lounge. Kathleen had no idea what she had achieved so it was especially sweet to welcome her with high fives and cheers. IMHO that is what it is all about.
On July 3rd Sue Sohn got a HIO on Hole 3! Do you suppose Sue now has a lucky number? Congratulations Sue and thank you for sponsoring Hole 3 at Guest Day.
We wrapped up July on the 31st with our annual Guest Day. Sue Hebert, Minhee Chung and Hui Suk So did a wonderful job coordinating the event. We had a field of 88 women. Stephanie Papke, Jenifer Benedetti, Sue Sohn and Hisayo Masuda took 1st place followed up by Diane Meyers, Michong Kim, Judy Rodia and Jeanine Richter coming in 2nd.
Special THANK YOU to our Hole Sponsors, The 9 Hole Division, Mike Caldwell, Sue and Norm Hebert, Rick Irvine, Sue Sohn, Allen and Noelle Enberg, Suzy and Jeff Eberle, Gayla Dahl, Janet and Ron Sage, Sonya Sung, Terry Thomas, Bob and Diana Rawlings and Linda Letney. We really appreciate the way you all support the Women’s Division.
Last but certainly not least on Guest Day we thank all of you who donated raffle baskets. It is a highlight of the day to see who wins what. I know I was happy to have my ticket drawn for the basket of goodies donated by Kathy Wake and her sister AND the cute cookie Jar (full of homemade cookies) donated by Kim Crahan. Guess it was my lucky day!
Congratulations to Angela Lee and Coralee Owsley on their Low Nets of the month. 65 is a good number.
August will be dominated by our Women’s Division Club Championship beginning on Tuesday the 5th for round one, round two will be on Friday the 8th and we will crown a Women’s Club Champion on the 12th. The 12th will be a full day with a celebration following the round and a horserace to cap off the day. Even if you don’t play all are welcome for the celebration and horserace so don’t miss out on the fun.
We will also be playing a WSWGA round on the 5th so if you aren’t playing in Club Championship but are playing a round that day please be sure to turn in your score card so it can be included in the results.
Partners Tournament begins on the 19th, the second round is on the 26th. If you are not familiar with this fun event it is pretty simple. Find a friend to partner up with, name your team and sign up! Invitations will come to you via Golf Genius soon.
The Captain’s Cup needs to be all wrapped up by the end of August. The finalists for the Cup are Angela Lee, Frankie Stevens and Minhee Chung. We had a draw and Minhee got the bye so Frankie and Angela will be having a match. I will keep you all posted on the date of the final between the winner of the first match and Minhee. Best of luck to all 3 of you.
Whew! I think that is it for August. As I mentioned, a busy month. In the words of one Sue Sohn…HAPPY GOLFING!
