Dear Twin Lakes Members,
First, let me welcome our 19(!!) new golf and social members who joined in the last month! We’ve had astonishing membership growth in 2025, and it has been wonderful to see and meet so many new members. Two years ago this summer, we were in the middle of hosting Town Halls and conducting a vote on a proposed member assessment to renovate the swimming pool and to replace critical pump infrastructure for the golf course. That assessment passed and I’m dedicating this month’s letter to some highlights of these capital projects.
The first swim meet of the season was a couple of weeks ago. It was very satisfying to witness our Twin Lakes swim families and their opponents using the pool. Year to date: 19 new Social Members, 728 member check-ins at the pool, and 174 guests. The new social member social dues, initiation fees and guest fees will contribute upwards of $38,000 in top line revenue annually and the summer is just getting started. We will continue to find opportunities to rent the pool during the off season to maximize this investment.
Since completing the pump project, the system has been running smoothly with stable pressure in our golf course sprinkler lines, consistently delivering 95–100 psi. We can remotely monitor the pumps via mobile device, allowing John Leslie and his crew to make quicker diagnostics.
The pumps are so much more efficient that we’ve been able to reduce overnight watering times from 12 hours to 7. John’s crew successfully tested all 18 greens at once, drawing 480 gallons per minute using only one pump at 75% capacity. The more consistent pressure has shown improved coverage everywhere. Most remaining dry spots are now attributed to sprinkler head condition rather than water pressure. The filtration system on the pumps has improved water quality and significantly reduced man-hours for maintenance. The need for hand-watering has vastly decreased, freeing up our grounds crew to make improvements to the golf course. In summary, we have extended the life of our irrigation system significantly with the replacement and startup of the new pumps.
John and his staff will continue to monitor and maintain our system to ensure top-level course conditions. The grounds crew is doing a terrific job, for a summer where we haven’t seen a lot of rain, this capital project couldn’t have come at a better time.
Thank you all for your continued support as we invest in long-term sustainability and efficiency of Twin Lakes. I hope you all had a relaxing 4th of July weekend, I so appreciate being a part of this club and community.
Sincerely,
Erika

Happy July Everyone!
We are halfway through 2025, and it looks like we can finally continue with our sunshine and warmth for a while. Make sure that you stay hydrated for the next couple of weeks. We all know about water but don’t forget your electrolytes as well.
Our PGA Jr League started with clinics at the end of April. The month of June was filled with team matches at Glen Acres, North Shore, and Auburn GC. The team has done very well playing through the hottest days of the month. They are troopers, as well as their parents, having a great time getting to know each other and working together in the scramble formats. July will finish up our program with Twin Lakes hosting one last match on July 20th at 4pm on the front 9. Then it is off to all stars for the players that qualify.
We will be starting junior camps on Monday, July 7. These junior camps will start at 8am with three hours of instruction followed by play on the front 9 (the older group will play the back 9 at 10:15am). The golf course will be open to the membership starting at 1pm on the back 9. Our hope is that the front 9 will open at 3pm when you make the turn. We want to thank you in advance for your patience as we work around this schedule. There may be a possibility that the first few member groups (if they start before 1pm) may have to play the back 9 twice but we won’t know until that day.
By the time you receive this newsletter, we would have already had our 4th of July Couples alternate scramble. Congratulations to our Low Net Winners: Jody Johnson, Cara Nunley, Trace & Maribel Harrell, Brian & Shannon Urban with their net score of 54. Shaun Garrison and Mary Beth Chadwick were our KP winners for the day.
Our next couple’s event is Thursday, July 10th at 5:30pm. Sign up as a couple (man/woman) and the computer will pair the 4-somes up. This will be a true mixer. Think of this as a meet & greet mixer where you can play and get to know members that you have seen around the club but haven’t had the chance to play with. $10 entry per couple.
Right after that, we have the Member Member Event on the 12th & 13th. This event is open to both men and women. You can make up men teams, women teams, or mixed teams. There is a handicap difference of 12 strokes. If the stroke difference is over the allotment, the higher handicap player will be adjusted. Senior men (65+) can play from the green tees; all other men will play the white and women will play the gold. The team entry is $200 ($100 per player) which includes golf, competition purse, and awards banquet/presentation. $40 team cash honey pot entry covers both days. Both days will be a 9am shotgun. The sign-up sheet is in the golf shop, or you can call the golf shop directly with your pairing. GGID for direct registration is tlmember25.
The 2025 President’s Cup event started last month. The pods are ½ way completed. A reminder to all players that you all players have until the end of the month to complete their pod matches. We ask that you keep on track to get these done on time as we move into our Knockout Round format with the winners of each pod.
We are hosting Plateau Men’s Senior Group on the 30. 24 players will tee it up between 9-10am and have lunch afterwards. For those senior proprietary members (50+) interested in playing the Plateau Club on Wednesday, July 23 and helping to host them here on the 30th, please click here to get on the list.
From what I have listed above, you can see that we have a lot of golf events in July. To help with this communication and the notification of golf course availability and closure, we have provided the list of golf events as well as course availability/closure below so you can plan accordingly. Please don’t hesitate to call the golf shop with any questions that you may have. We will be doing our best to get the course open for play as soon as possible to the rest of the membership during these days.
Lastly, regarding the use of golf carts, please note that with the heat and amount of play on the fantastic sunny days, those members using the driving range only, please be aware that there may not be a cart available to use to go to the driving range. For members with tee times, carts will be issued according to your tee time and given out 20 minutes prior to your tee time. In addition, carts are to be returned to the golf shop by 8pm.

PACE OF PLAY (4:10 hours or less)
One of the key factors that can make or break anyone’s a round is the pace of play. Helping to maintain a good pace and your position on the golf course is not only respectful to your fellow golfers but also key to creating an enjoyable experience for everyone on the course. The last thing that anyone wants to do is frustrate your playing partners as well as those playing in the groups behind.
This part of my article is not to ask you to hurry up or rush around the course but to simply be more efficient with your valuable time, as well as everyone else’s. Regardless of your skill level, we would like to help you adopt a mindset of playing “Ready Golf” — and not being afraid to share this concept with your fellow players as you move around the golf course.
Below are some recognized tips for improving pace of play:
“Hit when Ready”: Even if you’re not farthest from the hole, If you’re ready to take your shot and it’s safe, go ahead
Don’t wait on the tee box: If a player isn’t ready, someone else can hit. Don’t wait for formalities if it slows things down.
Be efficient on the greens: If it’s a tap-in, go ahead and finish without delay. While one player lines up their putt, the others should read theirs.
Pre-plan your shots: As you’re walking or riding to your ball, think about club selection and what club(s) you may want to take with you.
Keep up with the group in front of you: Your correct position on the course is immediately behind the group in front of you, not immediately in front of the group behind you.
Let the group behind you play through: If you are consistently not able to keep up and a gap opens in front of you, invite the group behind you to play through, irrespective of the number of players in the group.

This month’s “Sandie Award” goes to the WJGA rules officials and volunteers. Bruce Lindstrom and Cathy Kay did a fantastic job leading this program, following the juniors around the golf course filling divots and fixing ball marks last Monday, June 30th. They took it upon themselves to make sure that they left the golf course in the same condition as it was presented to them.
Hopefully everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. As you know, the last month has been a busy time at Twin Lakes with tournaments and league play. John and his team have continued to do a great job preparing for so many events and the course is playing great.
While tournament prep has kept the team busy, they still have been productive with projects throughout the course:
Potential upcoming projects we have discussed:
Now that it is golf carts on the course season, please remember to get back to the cart path once you approve 30 yards of the greens. As a reminder to all members and your guests, please do your part to assist with course conditions by following cart path rules, repairing pitch and ball marks, and sanding your divots. These small efforts add up in a big way and help the golf course recover more quickly.
If you have other ideas you would like the Greens Committee to address, you are always welcome to reach out. For other questions, comments, or concerns please email tpac14@gmail.com and/or ssealey16@gmail.com and we will review with the committee.
Thank you,

Rock n Roll Bingo
On a Thursday night, a generous crowd swayed to the sounds of Yacht Rock with its upbeat, catchy melodies such as “Africa,” “Hotel California”, and while singing along with the enduring “Sweet Caroline” and its irresistible “so good, so good, so good” chorus. The West Coast “Boat” ambiance was enriched by Social Committee members wearing trendy Yacht Captain Caps. Winners of the three games got to choose their prize from bottles of red wine.
We are looking forward to holding our annual Food Truck extravaganza and bringing back Martini and Jazz performed by a six-piece band in mid-July.
